Although Harvest Finance suffered from an exploit recently, I am very happy with the way that they handled the flash loan attack which makes me confident to start the discussion surrounding a Harvest integration within the Rari Yield Pool. From making infrastructure changes to formulating a remediation plan for affected users, I have no doubt that Harvest cares about their users and funds within the smart contracts. With the recent integration of Idle Finance, Harvest is seeing significantly higher yields. Since there is risk to this implementation, I would only be comfortable voting on this for the Yield Pool which incurs more risks but has potential higher rewards. Since the flash loan attack was used by the Curve pool, we have no plans to integrate Curve at this time based on the Rari Strategy Assessment Framework: https://www.notion.so/Rari-Strategy-Assessment-Framework-2d1edffcf80f4750973f6e90e97b70a4
Rari's goal is to provide the highest net value possible to our users. We take pride in doing this by acquiring governance tokens and liquidating them for the users' maximum profitability. The Rari protocol can continue achieving higher yield and higher net value by adding Harvest as a strategy within the Rari Yield Pool.
Harvest will allow the Yield Pool to rebalance and optimize across the following stablecoins for added returns:
Rari should always have the highest yield possible. By incorporating Harvest Finance into the Rari Yield Pool, we will be able to take advantage of the yield and token distributions of the underlying protocols such as IDLE, COMP, and FARM. Current APY pulled from their website shown below (as of December 8, 2020):
Currently all governance tokens earned by Rari are liquidated and distributed to pool token holders every 3 days. The idea would be to do the same with Harvest unless governance would prefer something different.
Overall, this would be one of the riskiest strategies that Rari integrates, so I would love to hear all thoughts around integrating Harvest Finance into the Rari Yield Pool!
For: Integrate Harvest Finance into Rari Yield Pool
Against: Don't integrate Harvest Finance
